The MLCo Energy Loop
We have turned our facilities into modern power plants. By combining massive solar harvest with cutting-edge storage, we are significantly reducing our dependence on the grid.
- Solar at Scale: Our facilities feature the largest rooftop solar installations in our industry, generating over 3 Megawatts of clean, renewable energy.
- Tesla Megapack Integration: In Spring 2026, we “closed the loop” at our Chicago HQ with the installation of two Tesla Megapack 2XL battery systems. These allow us to store excess solar energy produced during the day to power our operations 24/7.
- Grid Stability: Our system is sophisticated enough to support the local community. During periods of high demand, we can provide power back to the regional grid to help stabilize the energy supply for our neighbors.

The Chicago HQ Build
Our Chicago facility has installed 6,000 solar modules … generating over 2 Megawatts of clean, renewable energy.
This is the equivalent weight of one Megapack 2XL.
Our two Tesla Megapacks employed at our Chicago warehouse have a combined weight of 168,000 pounds.
Twelve new EV Chargers were recently installed at McCook, with infrastructure ready to double that capacity.

- LEED Gold Standards: MLCo facilities are engineered to LEED Gold specifications, ensuring maximum energy efficiency from the ground up.
- Sustainable Fleet: Our fleet of 150 refrigerated trailers is equipped with electric standby (plug-in) capabilities and advanced aerodynamics to minimize fuel consumption.
- Circular Operations: In 2025 alone, we recycled over 100 tons of material. We maintain a continual audit of our cooling systems and warehouse tech to ensure we are operating at peak efficiency.
